Balayage is a French word meaning “sweeping”, and is a technique for applying hair color in a sweeping motion. Certain looks are created using Balayage techniques. It is a common misconception that Ombre is Balayage. That is not the case, in fact Ombre is a look that can be created using the Balayage technique. Balayage can be used to create many looks, even traditional Highlights. Our Belle Chic Stylists are very familiar with using Balayage with different tones. You will see a soft highlights in a range of colors. From Ash or Icy Blonde to Caramel or Beige Blonde. It can also be used for different shades of brown or red hair. It results in a more natural looking transition from darker to lighter hair.
